1st eLECTRO workshop – Event report
Last month, we organized our first workshop together with our sister projects PLASTICE and Plastics2Olefins, which prooved to be a great succes! Many people both on-site in Ghent and online joined for our presentations and panel debates.
Two panels had been conducted:
- Panel 1 focused on “Innovations and technical challenges: Expected future for plastics recycling”,
- Panel 2 focused on “Towards a circular economy: Social acceptance of chemical recycling”
The eLECTRO Project had been introduced by our project coordinator Kevin Van Geem, Plastics2Olefins by Michal Jeremias and PLASTICE by Rémi Tilkin. Alexander Roeder from Plastics Europe and Werner Bosmans from the European Commission gave presentations and took part in the 2nd panel discussion. All the presentation can now be found on our “Events, conferences, workshops” page.
Thank you to our speakers and panelists Kevin Van Geem, Michal Jeremias, Rémi Tilkin, Geoff Brighty, Azd Zayoud, Steven De Meester, Annick Meerschman, Werner Bosmans, Alexander Roeder, Saskia Walraedt and Erik Paredis for their contribution and interesting discussions.
Take home message is that we still have many challenges ahead for the (chemical) recycling of plastic waste, both from a technical and societal point of view.
